Firewood

We supply firewood logs cut and split to your specific size and delivered in loose tipped loads.  All our logs are well seasoned and we aim to have the moisture content well below 30%.  It is very important to burn dry wood to get the most energy out of the fuel – wet logs will clog up chimneys and not burn efficiently.

We fell timber during the winter months at least 2 years before sale. It is then air dried initially before being stored and processed in sheds. Felling during the winter means less sapwood in the logs and less disturbance to birdlife and the environment.

All timber is cut from local sustainably managed woodlands – we do not import timber from Europe nor do we use energy to kiln dry the logs. By planning ahead we can still supply well seasoned dry logs. We have already felled trees for sales up to 2022.

We rely on word of mouth from very satisfied customers who recommend our quality logs. In 40 years of business we have rarely advertised.  However, we only deliver within a radius of 15 miles of St Clears and we need suitable access and turnaround space.

Hardwood species include oak, ash, sycamore,birch, holly, hazel, willow and alder in the main.

We apologise but we are unable to take on new customers at the moment (Jan 2020) because of strong demand from our existing valued customers.

We are a certified Biomass Supplier and were accredited in 2015.
